The Cobblerock block in downtown Vernal has had some major changes over the last year in preparation for revitalization work that gets underway next month. The Cobblerock block is on the east side of Vernal Avenue to 100 East and Main Street to 100 South. Vernal City provided an update that Phase 1 of the project will start in April and include the underground water, sewer and storm drain lines and parking lot in the southeast corner. The new parking lot will add over 70 downtown public parking stalls. Phase 2 of the project includes the walkway, lighting and parking behind the buildings and next to Vernal Avenue. The City selected BHI as the project contractor and manager to construct the Cobblerock parking lot, walkways, lighting, utilities and patio area. The project will be similar to the Zions block project and connect the walkway behind the buildings.
