A Jensen woman is now facing new felony charges after her response to being arrested on
outstanding warrants in Uintah County. The Probable Cause Statement explains that on
January 11th, 39-year-old Crystal Zelazny was a back seat passenger in a vehicle that was
stopped. When asked for her name, Zelazny gave a false name and then refused to
provide a date of birth. During this process of the officer trying to identify her, Zelazny
got very upset and began moving throughout the vehicle to get away from the officer.
Another officer arrived to assist and they were able to remove Zelazny from the vehicle.
She was arrested and placed in the back of a patrol vehicle all the while biting and
delivering some kicks to the officers involved. Officers discovered her identity and that
she had warrants for her arrest and she was brought to Uintah County Jail. At the jail,
Zelazny assaulted 2 correctional officers by kicking and scratching their arms to the point
of drawing blood. She is charged with 3 counts of Felony Assault Against a Peace
Officer, Giving a False Identity to a Peace Officer, and Disorderly Conduct.
