Property damage was part of a DUI arrest that occurred last week in Vernal. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, 38-year-old Natasha Tetonia Cornpeach had backed out of a parking spot at Maverick gas station, hit a parked Ford F150, and dragged the Ford out of its parking space due to the Dodge’s hitch getting stuck to the grill of the Ford. Officers made contact with Cornpeach and the smell of alcohol was detected. She was asked to step out of the vehicle and a brown bottle, discovered to be Whiskey, was observed on the floorboard by the driver’s seat. Cornpeach failed to pass field sobriety testing. While being interviewed Cornpeach disclosed that she drank 2 cans of Michelob Ultra while at the Maverick. The vehicle contained the open bottle of Whiskey and several more bottles of unopened alcohol. A criminal history check revealed that Cornpeach had a prior felony DUI conviction and that she was an interdicted person, making it unlawful for her to purchase or be in possession of alcohol. She was arrested and booked into Uintah County Jail. Natasha Cornpeach has been charged with 3rd Degree Felony DUI and Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana/Spice, Drug Paraphernalia, Unlawful Purchase, Driving on Revoked License, and Open Container.
