The owners of Scooters Pizza and Grub in Vernal were arrested after a traffic stop on May 29th on North Vernal Avenue. According to court documents, FBI agents were assisted by local officers in conducting a traffic stop on the vehicle occupied by Lee and Jenni Anglin at 650 North Vernal Avenue. The passenger was identified as Lee Anglin, who had an active federal warrant for his arrest. He was taken into custody and as officers worked to obtain consent to search the vehicle, the assisting FBI agents allowed the driver, identified as Jenni Anglin, to walk into a nearby building to use the restroom. The officer stated in the Affidavit of Probable Cause that nothing was located inside the vehicle but when he learned that Jenni Anglin had walked into the building to use the bathroom, he went inside to find her. The officer heard the toilet flush several times before Jenni exited. She denied hiding or disposing of anything and allowed the officer to search her purse. Unlabeled bottles were inside with Tramadol and Lortabs of which she did not have a prescription. Soon after leaving, personnel at the business reached out to the officer and reported that empty pill bottles and a pill crusher had been located in a cupboard behind paper towels and underneath the trash. All three items had residue inside of them which tested positive for methamphetamine. In a second interview, Jenni admitted to using the bathroom to dispose of the substances and then hiding the containers. She stated that her husband, Lee Anglin, handed her the items before he got out of the vehicle. When Lee Anglin was interviewed he admitted to giving his wife the pill bottles like Jenni had said. Jenni was booked into Uintah County Jail on felony drug charges and tampering with evidence for intentionally disposing of the illegal narcotics in a facility that was actively running. Evans Family Media reached out to FBI Public Affairs Officer Sandra Yi Barker for information on Lee Anglin’s federal charges and was referred to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Oklahoma. An updated report will be shared as information becomes available. Court records show that the Anglins have a history of outstanding debt obligations, tax issues, and eviction.
