Over 20 cattle were killed in a semi crash in Moffat County over the weekend. According to the Moffat County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred on Highway 13 south of Craig on Highway 13 at Mile Post 77. The semi was hauling 93 head of steers and heifers and the roadway was closed as emergency personnel worked to clear the scene until one lane could open to alternating traffic. Of the 93 cattle, 12 were killed in the crash and 9 more were euthanized on the scene. The other cattle were moved to a portable corral to be examined by a veterinarian and then were transported from the area. The crash remains under investigation by Colorado State Patrol.
