The Flaming Gorge Ranger District will be hosting upcoming open houses to inform the public and gather input on projects to improve boater access to the Green River at the Spillway and Little Hole boat ramps. The Spillway Project proposes, among other things, to “separate users carrying watercraft and those needing to launch watercraft by excavating the hillside to expand the turn area by opening up space on the river side to allow for parking of vehicles with portable watercraft.” It would also provide a separate area for those utilizing the shuttle system and expand parking. The Little Hole Project proposes, among other things, to provide storm [and] weather protection near the ramp area, expand parking to accommodate increased use, and potentially install a waterless cleaning unit for use by watercraft to reduce the threat of aquatic invasive species. The first open house will be held in Vernal on March 31st at the Uintah Conference Center from 5 to 7pm. The second open house will be held in Dutch John on April 28th at the Dutch John Conference Building from 5 to 7pm.
