A 9-1-1 call caught a terrifying moment that allowed police to respond and detain a man making threats inside a home with a gun last week in Uintah County. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, dispatch received a call on which an individual was heard begging that another subject hand over a gun to which a male voice yelled “No I won’t” in return. The call disconnected and when the dispatcher called the number back it was answered but there was still no response to the dispatcher. The individual could still be heard begging for the gun to be given up and the other individual replying in the negative. Police made entry into the home upon hearing screaming. They entered and found a man holding the victim with one arm and had a shotgun in the other. The officers swiftly detained the armed man and took the victim to safety. 42-year-old Robert Goodrich was arrested and is charged with 3rd Degree Felony Aggravated Assault and Misdemeanor Interrupting a Communication Device, Carrying a Dangerous Weapon while Under the Influence of Alcohol, and Intoxication. Goodrich was ordered to be held without bail and had his initial appearance scheduled in court on June 10th.
