An officer was injured trying to save individuals from a car crash that caught fire. The accident took place on Saturday July 27th, at approximately 5:30am, in Carbon County. The single vehicle accident had four occupants. The Sheriff’s Office shared that “it was reported that the vehicle had caught fire. Two of the occupants of the vehicle were transported to the hospital. Additionally, one law enforcement officer was transported to the hospital after providing efforts to rescue those in the vehicle. The other two occupants of the vehicle sustained fatal injuries and did not survive the accident.” The accident is currently under investigation through a collaborative effort between Utah Highway Patrol and Carbon County Sheriff’s Office.
