In the early morning hours of September 15, 2021, David H Curry, 66, of Hanna, returned to “That God who gave him life” after a battle with cancer.
He was born in Roosevelt, UT to Oran Joe and Vivian Chatwin Curry on June 25, 1955. He was the 3rd of 5 children.
He married Elaine Jones, his high school sweetheart, on January 31, 1976, in Tabiona, UT, and has referred to her as his "little bride" for 45 years. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on June 25, 1981. They were blessed with 5 beautiful children, 18 grandchildren with a granddaughter on the way and 2 great-granddaughters.
David is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, has held various callings, including being a member of the bishopric and has lived a life full of service. He loved serving in the Vernal, UT temple with his wife Elaine as an ordinance worker. He was very Christlike, he loved people. Everyone was his friend and he had many.
David spent most of his life working, he had many jobs. His career with Chevron Pipeline lasted 29 years. He retired at age 57 and bought himself a semi to continue working. He loved being on the road. He also purchased calves in the spring and sold them as steers in the fall.
He enjoyed his farm and the lifestyle of farming and teaching his grandkids all that they know. He loves his family more than life itself, good horses, and good dogs. And he expected much from all of us.
David is survived by his wife, Elaine; his mother, Vivian Curry; children, Tanya Kate (Jared) Peterson all of Hanna; David Heath (Brooke) Curry, Herriman; Matt Wayne (Jenn) Curry, Hanna; Sara ViLyn (Dustin) Simpson, Francis; Ryan Joe (Cassey) Curry, Clinton; grandchildren, Nicole (Monte) Clyde, Candyce (Beau) Bateman, Hunter (Hadlee) Peterson, Easton Peterson; Brookelle, Tyrell, Cadyn, Carter, Madyson, Rylee, Isla, Charlie, & Indie Curry; Claircee, Brogan, Hallee, Maycee, & Reagan Simpson; great-granddaughters, Aurie & Laityn Clyde; siblings, Norma Aman, Oran (Rebecca) Curry, Doug (Penny) Curry, Bruce Curry, Dennis (Flora) Jones, Kay Nelson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Joe Curry; parents-in-law, Wayne and Evelyn Jones; brothers-in-law, Ken Aman, Don Jones, Craig Nelson, Danny Gransbury;
sister-in-law, Lynne Gransbury; nephews, Tyler, Tyrel, & Tameric Curry; Tony Grant, and Kenny Aman.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 20, 2021, at 12:00 Noon at the Tabiona Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Viewings will be held on Sunday evening from 5-7 PM at the church, and on Monday morning from 9:30 - 11:30 prior to the services.
Burial in the Tabiona Cemetery.
