Gene retired from the Uintah County Road Department in 1988.  He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many different capacities.  Gene loved his community and all the people in it.  You could always count on seeing him out and about checking on his friends, working in his fields, helping out a neighbor, or visiting his family.
Gene's family was the light of his life.  He was an amazing father and a cherished grandfather, great grandfather, and great-great grandfather.  He loved getting together and having a big party with all his family.  He would never leave a gathering without letting everyone in the room know how much he loved them and proclaiming, "He had the BEST family."
We will all forever miss our sweet Grandpa Gene.  As a family, we are blessed beyond measure that we were able to have him a part of our everyday lives until he crossed over to be with his beloved Beulah and numerous family and friends.
