Randy Dee Nielsen
Randy Dee Nielsen, age 70, of Duchesne, passed away as peacefully as he lived on July 21, 2022, at his home surrounded by his devoted wife and kids.
A patient, loving, and gentle man, Randy was born October 10, 1951 to Marvin Eyner and Dorothy Stanley Nielsen. He married Connie Boutain Nielsen and their love and loyalty endured for nearly 50 years– leaving a legacy of 4 loving children, 9 beautiful grandchildren, and 3 sweet great-grandchildren.
When he was 15, Randy asked for "a couple calves" as payment for changing sprinklers all summer and he was a dedicated rancher ever since. Most days of his 70 years, he could be found– rain or shine– in Indian Canyon tending to his cows, changing water, building fences, hauling hay or just enjoying the solitude of the land he dearly loved. In the Stockton-to-Malone days, he liked watching the Jazz or irritating Connie with his constant game shows and Fox News.
Randy is survived by his wife, Connie Nielsen, Duchesne; two daughters, Christy Webb, Duchesne, Utah; and Shanna Nielsen-Witt (Eric Witt), West Jordan, Utah; two sons, Ryan Nielsen (Brittany Nielsen), Salt Lake City, Utah; Kyle Nielsen, Duchesne, Utah; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, his brothers and sisters, Jean Landers, Fruita, Colorado; Janet (Donald) Heed, Rodney (Bonnie) Nielsen, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Norvel, Leon and Timmy Nielsen; his nephews, Jacky Landers and Andy Nielsen; and a niece, Candice Nielsen.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Duchesne LDS Stake Center with a viewing at 9:30 a.m.
Burial will be in the Duchesne City Cemetery.
