Max L Farnsworth, age 95, of Mountain Home, Utah, passed away peacefully at Canyon Breeze Retirement Village in Orem, Utah, on Friday, December 10, 2021 with a few of his loving grandchildren by his side.
Max was born March 31, 1926, to Ronald Edwin and Doritha Leora Law Farnsworth and was raised in Mountain Home, Utah. He joined the Navy at the age of 17 in 1944 and served as a Radioman 2nd Class on the communication flagship, Mount McKinley, for almost 4 years. He came home in 1947 and married Nedra Thacker on February 29, 1948. 
Max and Nedra lived in Neola, Utah where they had 4 of their 6 children. In 1958, he moved his family to Cortez, Colorado where he began his career in the oilfield, working as a Production Site Pumper for Humble for 16 years. Max raised his family in Cortez and was transferred to Florida in 1972 for a short time but Florida was not for this cowboy and he missed his family. In 1973, Max and Nedra and their 3 youngest children moved back to Mountain Home where he continued his career in the oilfield and retired in 1988.
Max loved being on his ranch with his cows and horses, growing vegetables in Nedra's garden and visiting with family and friends. One of his biggest joys on that ranch was racing horses in the chariot races. His prize racehorse, Midway Bell, won several races.
Max is survived by his six children: Karma (Keith) Johns, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Maxine (Dave) Caudill, Centerville, Utah; Curtis (Charlotte) Farnsworth, Bolton, Massachusetts; Janice (Chuck) Brown, Northborough, Massachusetts; Kelly (Melissa) Farnsworth, Belgrade, Montana; Phil (Karen) Farnsworth, Fruita, Colorado; 21 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren;a brother, Lewis (Veloy) Farnsworth, Mountain Home, along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Nedra who passed away in 2007. 
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at the Moon Lake Ward Chapel in Mountain Home (20800 W 3800 N). There will be a viewing prior to the services at the church from 10-10:45 a.m.  
Burial will be in the Mountain Home- Boneta Cemetery.
