November is Diabetes Awareness Month and Uintah Basin Healthcare wants the Uintah Basin to know the resources that are available. UBH has an accredited Diabetes Education and Training Program. There are individual and group classes available that are offered to anyone with type 1, type 2, gestational diabetes or prediabetes. The classes cover seven self-care behaviors, including Healthy Eating, Active Lifestyle, Taking Medication, Monitoring, Problem Solving, Healthy Coping, and Reducing Risks. There is also insulin pump and continuous glucose (CGM) training. Diabetes education is covered by Medicaid/Medicare and by most private insurance companies. Those participating are encouraged to bring a family member or friend with them. To schedule, call the Family Practice office at (435)722-6130.
