Nominees Announced For Vacancy On 8th District Juvenile Court

The Office of the Governor announced Thursday that the Eighth District Judicial Nominating Commission has selected nominees for a vacancy on the Eighth District Juvenile Court. This position results from the appointment of Judge Ryan Evershed to the Second District Juvenile Court on November 20th, 2024. The nominees for the vacancy are: Uintah County Attorney Jarell Dillman; Orem City Prosecutor Aliisa Leon; Utah Health and Human Services Office Director/Administrative Law Judge Eric Stott; Attorney Guardian ad Litem Michelle Sullivan; and Attorney Jordan Van Oostendorp from Sam, Reynolds & Van Oostendorp. Written comments can be submitted to the Eighth District Judicial Nominating Commission at judicialvacancies@utah.gov. The deadline for written comments is noon on March 31st. The Nominating Commission may conduct further investigation of the nominees after reviewing public comments before sending the names to Governor Spencer Cox, who will have 30 days to make an appointment. Governor Cox’s appointee is subject to confirmation by the Utah Senate.
