Nominees have been selected by the Eighth District Judicial Nominating Commission for a vacancy on the Eighth District Juvenile Court. According to UtahPolicy.com, the vacancy is the result of Judge Keith Eddington retiring this coming June. Comments can be submitted to the Nominating Commission at judicialvacancies@utah.gov. The nominees for the vacancy are John Hancock, William Reynolds, Jeff Ross, Joseph Stewart, and Jaymon Thomas. Public comments must be submitted by April 30th at noon. Following the public comment period, Governor Spencer Cox is who makes the final appointment subject to the approval of the Utah Senate.
