Vernal City’s new police chief is qualified and ready to serve. A Vernal City press release shares that Michael Gledhill has over 18 years of service to Vernal PD. He has served as a Patrol Sergeant and as the Drug Task Force Commander for the Uintah Basin. Gledhill attributes much of his success to the mentorship and leadership of Chief Dylan Rooks, acknowledging Rooks’ contributions in shaping the department into one of excellence. “Vernal is a great community and a special place to live,” shares Chief Gledhill, “and I believe part of that reason is because of the tradition of excellent law enforcement services. I am committed to not only continuing with that tradition but also building upon that great legacy.” Gledhill replaces Dylan Rooks who had 29 years with Vernal PD.
