Gold Cross Ambulance has a new Medical Director for Uintah County, replacing the now retired Dr. Bruce Daniel. Dr. Adam S. Nielson is currently an Emergency Physician and the Medical Director of the ER group at Ashley Regional Medical Center. As the new Medical Director, Dr. Nielson will “provide medical direction and management of Gold Cross’s EMS system in Eastern Utah, approving standards, policies, protocols and procedures and assure compliance with all state statutes and regulations. He will serve in an advisory role to the public health community regarding EMS issues and collaborating and communicating with government officials and community groups.” In addition to being a licensed Physician and Surgeon in Utah, he has received the Bronze Star Medal for exceptionally meritorious service while serving as a flight surgeon during Operation Iraqui Freedom.
