Two people are in critical but stable condition and the suspect is in custody after a shooting incident in Naples on Wednesday. Uintah School District announced at 12:30pm that Naples Elementary School was on a lockdown due to police activity in the neighborhood near the school for police activity NOT related to the school. The lockdown was lifted at 12:40pm. On Wednesday evening, Naples Police Chief Nathan Simper shared the following about the incident: “During the afternoon of February 28th, the Naples City PD, along with Emergency Medical Services, responded promptly to a distress call from a residence within Naples City, regarding a reported shooting incident. Upon arrival, officers discovered two individuals – a 35-year-old male and 28-year-old female – suffering from gunshot injuries. Immediate medical attention was provided, and both victims were swiftly transported to a nearby hospital. Due to the severity of their injuries, they were subsequently transferred to a medical facility in the Wasatch Front, where they remain in critical but stable condition…A suspect has been identified in connection with this incident and is currently in custody.” Chief Simper offered his reassurance to the community that there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
