A federal grant is making it possible for Naples City to improve a busy street but are still weighing the options. Naples City Mayor Dean Baker reports that two open houses have been held as the city considers what improvements to make to 2000 East and the input from the public has been very valuable. CIVCO Engineering is compiling all the surveys and preparing to present the options and their recommendation to the Naples City Council at an upcoming business meeting. Mayor Baker shares that there are residents that are adamant there needs to be a sidewalk and others that would like to see the road just widened with wider shoulders as well. Mayor Baker says the community involvement during the open house events were just what was needed as options are considered.
