Uintah County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of the man who died in Sunday morning’s crash south of Fort Duchesne. The Sheriff’s Office shared Tuesday morning that 30-year-old Trevor Shane John of Randlett was killed in the accident while there is no update on the condition of the 19-year-old woman who was involved in the crash. Uintah County sheriff’s deputies and Bureau of Indian Affairs police officers were notified about the crash on 7000 South, several miles south of the Four Corners intersection, about 4:30am on Sunday. Investigators believe John, who was driving the vehicle, failed to negotiate a curve in the road, over-corrected and rolled the vehicle. He and his 19-year-old female passenger were both ejected from the vehicle. The woman was able to walk to get help. Investigators believe alcohol use and speed were factors in the crash. Neither were wearing seat belts. Instead, deputies said, the seat belts had been fastened and they were sitting on top of them at the time of the crash. Evans Family Media offers our sympathies to those affected by this crash.
