Another amazing group of local children have graduated from the D.A.R.E. program, this time from Myton Elementary. D.A.R.E. instructor Deputy Kevin Priebe hosted the graduation of Karen Johnson’s 5th grade class which included a commemoration ceremony and pizza to celebrate. The Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office explains that this program teaches youth to be empowered to respect others. They learn how to apply these basic principles in their everyday lives free from violence, substance abuse and other dangerous behaviors. School Resource Officer Kevin Priebe said, “This was a bunch of good kids to work with.” Another special part of the graduation was the announcement of the essay contest winner. The students all participated and did a great job. The winner of the essay contest was Destiny Guffey. Congratulations Destiny and all the Myton D.A.R.E. graduates!
