The Uintah County Library is always providing unique opportunities for local teens and Mural Day, held May 15th, was certainly that. According to a report in the library’s ‘Novel News’, more than two dozen teens gathered to learn techniques and paint murals under the mentorship of local artists Janet Zeeryp and Isaiah Hoppe Zeeryp. One of the murals is a Sego Lily located in the library just west of the elevator on the second floor. The other mural the teens helped complete “consists of two children sitting atop the world with open books in their laps as a rocket launches above them, signifying the transformative power of reading to take us anywhere.” It is located between the Childrens area and the southside staircase. This amazing opportunity was made possible through a U-Serve Utah grant and Sherwin Williams.
