A mother/daughter duo is facing serious charges after falsely filling out an election ballot. According to the Probable Cause Statement, officers responded to a call on October 23rd of a person who had received an email from the County that her signature on the ballot turned in did not match her signature on file. This email came as a surprise as she had not yet received her ballot and had not voted. Officers went to the address where the ballot had been mailed to and spoke with the occupant there who stated that she and her daughter had filled in the ballot, knowing that it wasn’t their ballot. The woman further explained that they had ripped off the tab with the name and signature on it in order to vote anonymously and the reason for doing so was simply that they wanted to vote. Both women are charged with 3rd Degree Felony Mail Theft, 3rd Degree Felony Forgery, and Misdemeanor False Impersonation/Double Voting.
