Crews are making progress on the Moon Lake Road Fire that was called in on Sunday, July 19th around 2:15pm. The fire, located north of the Lake Fork bridge along the Moon Lake road on tribal lands, has burned an estimated 261 acres. As of Tuesday evening, the fire is 70% contained. Fire resources have come from Altamont Fire, US Forest Service, BLM , and the Bureau of Indian Affairs, with 2 type 6 engines, 1 hotshot crew and 1 type 3 helicopter still working the fire. No structures have been damaged and no injuries have been reported. The source of the fire is still under review but lightning was reported in the area just before the fire started.
