A camper melted to the ground after catching fire from a nearby camper trailer on Wednesday in the Shadow Mountain Mobile Home Park on the western far side of Craig. According to the Moffat County Sheriff’s Office, emergency personnel were dispatched to the active house fire around 5:10pm and a man who was living in the camper was able to escape without injury. By 6:40pm, the fire was extinguished and Craig Fire remained on the scene to mop-up.
The cause of the fire was not known. At least one other home suffered some damage.
