Craig Police believe that a man responsible for a series of car thefts this fall is now in
custody. According to a Craig Daily Press report, 24-year-old Skyler Kemp was arrested
on October 25th and has been charged with Class 3 Felony Burglary of a Dwelling,
among other charges. That charge was related to the break-in and burglary of a local
priest. A communion kit, silver cross necklace, and sacramental bag, all valued at around
$1,000 dollars, were stolen, as well as a $4,000 dollar mountain bike. Police requested
access to search Kemp’s mother’s home and the items were recovered as well as many
other stolen items from separate thefts, including the car thefts. When police questioned
him about the burglary, Kemp denied it but stated that there had been shady characters at
his house because the only way he can make money is to sell drugs. Kemp remains in
custody at the Moffat County Jail and has a court appearance on November 18th.
