Moffat County Man Missing; Public Assistance Requested

A Moffat County man has officially been entered into the National Crime Information
Center as a missing person and assistance from the public throughout the region is
requested. The Moffat County Sheriff’s Office reports that the search is for 70-year-old
resident Thomas Ray Velasquez who was last seen on December 18th, 2023. Mr.
Velasquez was reported missing on January 6th, 2024. “Efforts to locate Mr. Velasquez
have been ongoing since he was reported missing,” shares the Sheriff’s Office. “An
extensive ground and aerial search has been conducted in the area where he was last
believed to have been located (his residence on Moffat County Road 53) without
success.” A 2020 Polaris Ranger UTV, described as having camouflage body panels,
black doors, and top is missing from his residence as well. Velasquez is a 5’9″ white male,
weighing approximately 164 lbs. He has brown hair, which may show signs of graying,
and brown eyes. We urge anyone who may have any information regarding the
whereabouts of Mr. Velasquez or the missing UTV to contact the Moffat County Sheriff’s
