Don’t underestimate the kids in Moffat County. Just this last week Colorado held their State Robotic Tournament in Denver and the 5 elementary teams from Moffat County were in it to win. At the tournament each team faced 24 teams throughout Colorado in the exact same challenge. The challenge consisted of eight teamwork skill matches that played into their final score as well as individual driving and programming challenges. Ridgeview Elementary had three teams while Sandrock Elementary had two. Three teams are now headed to the Global Robotics Tournament in Dallas, Texas in May. Some other accomplishments of the teams include placing second in state in the teamwork challenge, receiving the the Judges Award for the team’s interview, and the “Think Award” for quality programming in problem solving.
