Rising temperatures may mean spring is officially here and there are side effects to prove it. On Wednesday, the Moffat County Sheriff’s Office in western Colorado announced that flooding has begun. In this case, the flooding referred to is Highway 394 at about milepost 5. A long section of the roadway is entirely covered in water and is not safe for vehicles to pass. The Colorado Department of Transportation and Moffat County Sheriff’s Office were on the scene and requested the public to avoid using Highway 394 in that area. Officials have not announced how long the Highway may be closed or if spring snowmelt will result in similar situations.
