It was a long day for one hunter and his hunting party in Uintah County on Monday after injury required a call to the Uintah County Search and Rescue team. According to the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office, a call was received that a hunter was injured and required help getting off the mountain above Dry Fork. The injured hunter’s friend traveled down the mountain to call for help and the Search and Rescue team was called in. The team had to use horses based on the location of the hunter and they were able to get the man to the horse and onto it “with considerable effort,” shares the Sheriff’s Office. “He rode down with the group pretty quickly and appeared to be doing well. With a group effort he was lifted off the horse, onto the gurney, and then into the ambulance.” Sheriff Norton gave a special thanks to the Search and Rescue team for the sacrifices they make to go out and help find people in trouble. In the Sheriff’s words, “My hat’s off to them once again.”
