The family and friends of a Colorado woman are celebrating her safe return after she went missing last week. Rifle Police Department summoned the help of the public to keep an eye out for the 73-year-old woman after she went on an outing alone on August 2nd and did not return. She was known to have some cognitive impairment and would get lost and confused easily causing extra concern as the hours and days went on. Reports that her vehicle had possibly been spotted came in from throughout the area but the woman remained missing until there was a breakthrough on August 6th when her car was located south of Rifle in a remote area. The vehicle was unoccupied and Garfield County and Mesa County Search and Rescue teams were called in to search the area. On Monday morning, August 7th, the missing woman was located by Search and Rescue in the White River National Forest near Alsbury Reservoir.
