The Miss Utah Outstanding Teen competition is happening this weekend and the community has taken to social media to send good luck wishes to a local candidate. Miss Uintah County’s Outstanding Teen Olivia Hawkes will join over 40 girls from around the state for a two day pageant in Provo to see who will be crowned Miss Utah Outstanding Teen. Olivia says she has loved serving the community at different events around the area. “My passion is dancing and that is why my Social Impact Initiative is ‘Chance to Dance’,” shares Olivia. “I raise money and offer scholarships for dance classes for youth in our area that might not be able to join teams because of the financial burden. I’ve grown my initiative and have started teaching dance in the elementary schools in our area. I love seeing the joy that dance brings not only to me but the kids in our great community.” Miss Outstanding Teen is part of the Miss America organization and the participants this weekend are competing for scholarship opportunities as well as the crown. We wish Olivia Hawkes the best as she competes this weekend and represents Uintah County.
