Meth Use In Smith’s Parking Lot Results In Arrest

Law enforcement responded to a call to the Smith’s parking lot in Vernal the day before Thanksgiving after a report of what appeared to be 2 individuals consuming illegal drugs while sitting in a vehicle. When the officer arrived, the reported vehicle was found unoccupied but a male and female soon returned. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, the registered owner of the vehicle was identified as 34-year-old William Earl Harrison. It was discovered that William was currently on probation with Adult Parole and Parole and his probation officer was reached and gave permission to search William and his vehicle. A glass pipe with a testable amount of methamphetamine was found in the vehicle. William Earl Harrison was arrested and is charged with 3rd Degree Felony Possession or Use of a Controlled Substance and Misdemeanor Use or Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
