There has been a long and varied list of musical artists over the years who have put on a big city show in small town Vernal but that occurrence is expected to slow down, at least for now. Steve Evans of Evans Family Media has produced countless concerts over the years and plans to continue as best as he can but with a shift in location to Roosevelt.
That is the case with the upcoming Chris Janson concert taking place April 20th at the Union High Theater. For those asking why the shows are no longer held in Vernal or why there aren’t as many shows, the answer is simple, it’s a matter of scheduling. “The venue is not working out in Vernal,” explains Evans. “We need a similar venue in the Vernal area that will accommodate this type of entertainment. We work with a booking agent that routes these concerts throughout the region and enables us to get big artists because of adjacent bookings. Otherwise we wouldn’t be able to afford to bring these acts out.
Unfortunately, Vernal is excluded from that if we don’t have a venue that can work with our scheduling needs.” Regardless, Evans Family Media is excited to bring people from all over the Basin together in Roosevelt for a great night of country music on April 20th.
