A crash on Highway 6 could have ended much worse after a major fuel spill resulted from the collision. Fox 13 reported that sometime around 5pm on Sunday two semi-trucks crashed on Highway 6 about a mile west of Thistle, blocking all lanes. Highway 6 was closed in both directions for cleanup which was complicated by the 6,000 gallons of fuel that spilled due to the crash. Images from the accident show that the side of the Maverick tanker has large punctures resulting in the spill. The highway remained closed for about 6 hours and traffic was allowed through at about 11pm. One person was transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
