When shopping locally there is usually a mix of those wearing masks and those not but that may soon change in some local retail locations. Several national chain stores announced in recent days that masks are now required for all entering their U.S. locations with few exceptions. Walmart corporate announced that starting July 20th all customers are required to wear a face covering while shopping in their stores. “We’ll have a health ambassador stationed near the entrance of our stores to help remind you of this policy,” shares Walmart corporate. “The ambassadors will be identifiable by their black polo shirts.” Those who do not wish to wear a mask are encouraged to utilize pickup and delivery services. Kroger, which includes Smith’s grocery stores, made a similar announcement going into effect today. “Starting July 22nd, we will require all customers in all locations to wear a mask when shopping in our stores, joining our associates who continue to wear masks,” shares Kroger corporate. Likewise, Walgreens corporate is now requiring customers to wear face coverings before entering the store except when doing so poses a health concern. Lowe’s Companies, Inc. also announced that their U.S. stores would require all customers to wear masks effective July 20th and that they are offering free masks at the customer service desk for those who need them.
