The UBTech Foundation shared exciting news this week as a major donation was received to benefit Native American students. Marathon Petroleum awarded the UBTech Foundation with $100,000 dollars to help cover tuition and fees for Native American students. Marathon Petroleum has a gas gathering and processing operation on tribal land in the Uintah Basin. “The employees and the leadership of Marathon believe in supporting education,” shared VJ Smith, Stakeholder Engagement Manager for Marathon. “We see the impact education makes. It’s the right thing to do.” Representatives from the company as well as employees with the Ute Tribe Employment Rights office Ordinance(UTERO) gathered at UBTech to celebrate what has been named the Marathon Petroleum Tuition Gap Funding Program. “UTERO helps tribal members and their descendants with job placement.
