A man with existing warrants in Uintah County and Duchesne County was arrested last week after a traffic stop. According to court documents, an Officer observed a vehicle leaving a “suspected drug house” when the vehicle took off at a high rate of speed, far exceeding the speed limit. The Officer initiated a traffic stop and the driver was identified as Jeremiah Hodges who was wanted by Adult Probation & Parole as a fugitive with 2 warrants out of Vernal and a no bail warrant out of Duchesne. A K9 was deployed and gave a positive on the vehicle for drugs. A search was conducted and methamphetamine and paraphernalia was located in a black container set in a bag of fresh food. Hodges and his passenger each denied that the meth was theirs. Hodges was arrested and booked into jail for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and the three warrants for his arrest. As an enrolled Ute Tribe member, the passenger in the vehicle was arrested by the BIA for other charges.
