On March 21st, officers responded to a suspicious incident on 1500 South near 300 East
in Uintah County. The caller reported that a man had stopped a white truck in front of her
property and had gotten out and was behaving oddly, including running through her yard
and pacing around the truck. Upon arrival, officers observed exactly that with the man
displaying some paranoia, possibly under the influence of a controlled substance.
24-year-old Tinieh Raey Tavares told officers that the truck belonged to his employer and
that he had been test driving the vehicle but he believed it may explode. The vehicle
owner was contacted and stated that he was not aware that the vehicle had been taken and
that Tinieh had previously worked for him for about 2 days in January and had not been
employed since that time. Tavares explained to officers that he had known that the keys
to the vehicle were kept inside of it. He was arrested on a charge of felony Theft of a
Motor Vehicle and misdemeanor charges of Driving on a Denied License and Driving as
a Restricted Driver Without an Interlock System.
