The man shot in Myton on April 30th has died of his injuries. According to the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office, 21-year-old Kyler John Smith of Myton died early Friday morning at a Wasatch Front hospital. Authorities share that 59-year-old Michael Raymond Reyburn was arrested following the shooting and was booked into the Duchesne County Jail. “Reyburn told detectives Smith began pounding on the front door of his trailer home about 2 pm Thursday,” shares the Sheriff’s Office. “Reyburn said he was in the process of answering the door when the shotgun he was holding discharged through the door, striking Smith in the head. Deputies who responded to the shooting found Reyburn on the floor inside his trailer with a sawed-off, double-barrel .410 shotgun lying nearby. Detectives obtained a search warrant and found methamphetamine, marijuana, digital scales and other drug paraphernalia inside the trailer. The trailer homes where Reyburn and Smith live are separated by one other trailer home.” Reyburn is being held without bail for investigation of manslaughter, carrying a concealed short-barreled shotgun, transaction of a dangerous weapon as a restricted person, and several drug charges. The Sheriff’s Office shares that a second arrest took place Thursday as well. “Several hours before Smith was shot, he was sitting outside his trailer when he was threatened by another man,” reports the Sheriff’s Office. “Nautika (Nautica) Malakhi Noon is accused of going to Smith’s trailer home on Thursday and pointing a pellet gun at him. The pellet gun Noon used in the incident looks like a functioning high-caliber pistol. Noon, 19, has been charged in 8th District Court with aggravated assault, a third-degree felony. He is being held without bail.” Both incidents remain under investigation.
