A high speed chase that started in Wasatch County on Friday morning ended in Duchesne County. According to the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office, Wasatch County deputies notified them of the vehicle pursuit that they just terminated due to adverse weather conditions through the Strawberry area. The description of the vehicle was given as a Red 2007 Lexus, which was heading eastbound on Highway 40. An attempt to locate was issued and deputies spotted the vehicle in the Fruitland area and proceeded to initiate a traffic stop. The vehicle did not stop and continued to flee the officers reaching speeds over 120 mph. “Several attempts to spike the Lexus were made, however, due to traffic the spikes were ineffective,” shares the Sheriff’s Office. “Pursuit continued through Duchesne and around Pariette Road near Myton where the suspect’s vehicle tried to make an abrupt left turn and went through livestock fencing, high-centering his vehicle and ending the pursuit. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to Uintah Basin Medical Center for safety precautions. He was then transported to Duchesne County Jail where he was booked on multiple charges including evading, possession of marijuana and other traffic-related charges.” The suspect was also wanted out of the Salt Lake area.
