Technology is a powerful tool but it’s important critical thinking skills still be employed when using it. A motorist learned this lesson last week when attempting to travel from Springville to Vernal for the 4th of July.
According to Wasatch County Search and Rescue, the 23-year-old man called 911 to report that he was stuck in his Toyota Tercel on the mountain. He said he had been following a “shortcut that Google recommended” and was now stranded.
He was located by Search and Rescue teams on Strawberry Peak on July 4th at 12:39am. He was uninjured but did require transport off the mountain. The search and rescue effort reportedly took about 3 hours.
