A Uintah County man was arrested last week after a domestic disturbance involving his ex-wife. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, officers were dispatched to a call in which the complainant reported being hit over the head with a bottle. The victim was found with injuries consistent to the claim with a laceration on the back of her head. She told officers her ex-husband had hit her and he was on the back porch of the residence. Officers located him and he explained that the pair had visited the cemetery together and after returning to the residence a verbal argument got underway. He stated that he was angry and hit her over the head with a glass beer bottle. While talking with him, officers noted the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and he admitted to being under the influence of alcohol. 59-year-old Philip “Shane” Boyles was arrested for the offense of 3rd Degree Felony Aggravated Assault and Misdemeanor Intoxication.
