The owner of a phone that contained child sexual abuse material on it was recently arrested in Duchesne County. In September, a phone that was found was turned over to police and it was reported to have child sexual abuse materials on it. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, a warrant was obtained, and it was determined that the phone had 10 separate images and 6 videos containing pre-pubescent child pornography. The owner of the phone was also identified during the search. Last week, the phone’s owner was located and asked if he had recently lost a cellphone and he confirmed that he had and shared what kind it was. An interview was conducted and 64-year-old Michael Alan Simpson was arrested and is charged with 10 counts of 2nd Degree Felony Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.
