Amazingly, there were only minor injuries from a crash Friday evening in Vernal at the 500 West intersection on Highway 40. According to Vernal PD, a commercial semi truck was traveling westbound on Highway 40 and a Ford F-350 was traveling southbound on 500 West. The Ford drove through the red light colliding with the semi. Both vehicles pushed toward the parking lot of Basin Sports. The Basin Sports sign was among the damage done. The fire department extricated one person from the F-350 and multiple individuals were transported by ambulance. They were later released with minor injuries. The driver of the Ford F-350 was issued a citation for failure to obey the traffic signal.
