Ashley National Forest announced Monday that Taylor Mountain Road (Forest Service Road 044) is being treated with magnesium chloride this week to improve it for the coming season. The road will be graded and prepared Monday and Tuesday, Wednesday the application of the Magnesium Chloride will happen and Thursday and Friday the application will be left to absorb and dry. “Uintah County will place a ‘Road Closed’ sign at the Taylor Mountain Road forest boundary closure gate and locking the gate until Saturday morning,” shares the announcement. “The road should be ready to open Saturday morning if everything goes well. Traffic on the road after placing Magnesium Chloride can damage the surface of the road and Magnesium Chloride is corrosive to cars and ATVs. It is HIGHLY recommended no one drive on the road until Saturday morning. Magnesium Chloride bonds the road surface and reduces dust and loose gravel on the roadway.” All are asked to refrain from using the Taylor Mountain Road until Saturday.
