The winners of the ultimate battle deserve to be recognized and the epic inaugural 3rd Grade Battle of the Books is an event worth celebrating. Teams of 3rd graders from Davis, Discovery, and Maeser elementary schools sent in their top competitors to the battle held at the Uintah School District office last week. “At the beginning of the year, 3rd grade students were challenged to read 20 books,” shares the announcement. “Each school held a competition where teams of students were asked questions about information from each book. Teams had to provide the name of the book and author’s name to earn points. The Uintah Cookies from Davis Elementary, the Foxy Readers from Discovery Elementary, and the Super Readers from Maeser Elementary earned the right to compete against each other based on their performances in their school competitions.” Multiple rounds with extra questions had to be held due to the number of correct answers. In the end, the Maeser Super Readers finished in 1st place. Congratulations to all these super readers!
