Lucky kids throughout the region were blessed to participate in ‘Shop With A Cop’ over the weekend. In Vernal, law enforcement took children from their breakfast at the Elk’s Lodge in a light and siren patrol ride to Walmart where the kids got to shop for gifts alongside officers. Even the Grinch couldn’t help but feel the Christmas spirit while greeting the kids and the arrival of Santa by helicopter is always an exciting highlight of the day. “This event is a true highlight of the holiday season,” shares Vernal PD, “and would not have been possible without the unwavering support of our generous community partners.” Roosevelt City Police Department also hosted ‘Shop with A Cop’ in Duchesne County over the weekend. All the law enforcement officers had a great time and smiles were on every face. Officers in Moffat County also enjoyed the privilege of brightening the Christmas holiday for kids in western Colorado. “Together, we created lasting memories and strengthened the bond between our police officers and the community,” shares the announcement from Moffat County Sheriff’s Office. “From the children who picked out special gifts for their families to the officers who made the day extra special, this event truly showcased the spirit of giving and kindness. It was heartwarming to see our community come together to spread holiday cheer!”
