Voted the public’s favorite community event in a recent survey, the Dinah “SOAR” Days Hot Air Balloon Festival is ready to paint the sky this weekend. There are 39 balloons expected this year with many crowd favorites and many new designs. One big change this year is that the morning balloon launches will take place from Vernal Middle School. Many of the favorite events associated with the festival are on again, including the chalk art contest at the Uintah County Library, Dinaland Car Club Cruise Show downtown, the Dino Dash race, and two nights of the Balloon Night Glow with downtown Main Street from 100 West to 100 East closed down and balloons lit up under the stars.
