Local Youth Shine at 2020 Uintah Basin Science Fair

It was an impressive showing at the 2020 Uintah Basin Science Fair held on Thursday at the Uintah Conference Center. Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth grade students from Uintah Middle School, Vernal Middle School, and Terra Academy displayed a wide range of interesting and unique projects and awards were distributed by a long list of sponsors. The winners of the science fair included the following: In 6th grade Biological Science – first place Kade Richens and second place Ruby Glazier. In 7th grade Biological Science – first place Justi Cook and second place Zane Taylor. In 8th grade Biological Science – first place Hailee Shull and second place Annabelle Johnson. In 6th grade Physical Science – first place Colton Cantilin and second place Genny Huber. In 7th grade Physical Science – first place Madalyn Goodrich and second place Pierson Watkins. In 8th grade Physical Science – first place Mason Lott and second place Layla Nelson. In 6th grade Social Science – first place Matthew Jensen and second place Marina Gallego Garcia. In 7th grade Social Science – first place Rachael Stewart and second place Kaitlyn Hacking. In 8th grade Social Science – first place Peyton Loeb and second place Kate Slaugh. In 6th grade Engineering – first place Daniel Johnson and second place Daysen Allred. In 7th grade Engineering – first place Kate Larson and second place Caleb Birchell. In 8th grade Engineering – first place Alexa Merrell and second place Taysia Richens.
